Recognizing Scams and Confirming Welocalize Communications

Please be advised of fraudulent social media accounts impersonating Welocalize employees. These accounts often request sensitive information or offer jobs via private social media instant messages or generic email accounts with common domain names (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.)

Welocalize will never solicit candidates or employees via direct messages on social media platforms.

This includes but is not limited to requests for sensitive information, promises of payment, or job and project offers. Furthermore, Welocalize will never ask for money to secure a job, or ask you to pay money for a job.

All official contact from Welocalize representatives will be associated with @welocalize.com email accounts, or @hire.lever.co if you're in the application stage.

Unfortunately, as scam messages are becoming more frequent, it is vital you stay vigilant. Here are some of the indications that the message you received is most likely a scam:

  • The message is unexpected and unsolicited.
  • It comes from a social media platform, or the email associated with the message is from a generic address (e.g. Gmail or Hotmail). Remember, official Welocalize email addresses always end with @welocalize.com, or @hire.lever.co, and we don’t offer any jobs via direct messages on social media platforms.
  • You are offered an urgent job, bypassing any interviews, registration, or onboarding process.
  • The payment offered is unrealistic.
  • You are asked to pay a fee to enroll for the job, join a payment platform or job platform, or receive an identification card.

If you receive any communications claiming to be from Welocalize that are not associated with the @welocalize.com domain (or @hire.lever.co), please report these to us, and include as much information as possible about the communication you received and the account that sent it. If you are comfortable with sharing screenshots of the communication, we would appreciate it.

In addition to that, we recommend you report the scam message and the scammers details to the social media platform through their scam/phishing reporting channels.

Again, we encourage the global network of language service providers to be vigilant when engaging with unknown contacts. Please do not give out your personal information on social media platforms.
